This is the role of guides for Student Council Investiture. Please look through the whole flow of the investiture, don't just look at your own role. Please know what you guys have to do by monday(19th March) morning. Those who went on 14 March last wednesday's investiture rehearsal please go and contact your fellow guideswith the same role and inform them about their job or also allocate the workload accordingly.

Lastly, when u report to me(Yu Jing) before the rehearsal, please print out a copy of the attached document, it is essential for you guys to know the entire flow and also something to refer to.

Hello

Maybe I didn't specify clearly but for those who are confused about what to bring,

For this camp:

Individual

1. Bring your own cutleries in a small bag (fork, spoon, cup, plate/bowl)

2. Report in 2nd Uniform (including skirt)

3. 2nd day lets standardize and wear PE shirt + school shorts (no need skirt as some of you may only have 1 blue skirt)

4. We are not bathing so as to let you all experience the discomfort when you are away from home where there may not be bathing facilities.

For toiletries - Toothbrush, toothpaste, facial wash, comb, face towel, etc. (no need body wash, shampoo)

You can bring deodorant/powder to make yourself smell/feel better.

5. Please bring sleeping bag. Otherwise you have to sleep on concrete.

6. Please bring your water bottle, you will be required to bring it everywhere you go to make sure you don't dehydrate.

Patrol

1. For Outdoor Cooking,

Each patrol please bring:

- 2-3 mass tins/ guides cookie tins

- 1-2 big tubes of toothpaste

- 2 thongs

Food wise,

Please include some food with fibre to balance up your diet instead of having just canned food,

we will help you keep these food somewhere.

Examples:

- Fresh fruits (apples, oranges, etc)

- Fresh vegetables (small tomatoes, cucumbers, etc)

Drinks wise,

Please choose something that is not as sweet as syrup drinks

Example:

- Green tea, etc

- Juices

2. For each patrol: yr1s - 3 bags of dry leaves, yr 2s - 3 bags of twigs, yr 3s - 3 bags of branches.

Note:

For those who went overseas, please sign your consent form, don't leave out the emergency contact part, and put in Ms Loh's pigeon hole before the camp.

Hello guides!

Happy New Year!

The school term is going to start soon hope you gals had enjoyed your holidays!

Please note that we will have CCA on the first day of school and the act has been posted below!

Basically we will be doing spring cleaning and at the same time preparing for UG exhibition which will be taking place on the 4th January 2012 on Wednesday.

The namelist of the people who will be on duty on Wednesday will be announced on Tuesday. The details of the assigned area for spring cleaning will also be announced on Tuesday. For now, we will assign level I/Cs who have to help to ensure the duties assigned to each level are properly carried out and report to the main comm after the act. The level I/Cs are: Rachel, Tammy (year 2s); Xiao Ting, Xuan Ting (year 3s); Marilyn, Si Wai (year 4s).

On the other hand, year 3s and 4s, please bring along unwanted rags for wiping the guides room whereas the year 2s we will have other assignments for you gals.

Year 3s and gateway membes please also bring along decorative materials for the decorating of guides room/gateway structure respectively. For the year 3s, you gals can discuss about how you want to decorate the guides room beforehand as not much time will be given during the act to discuss.

Everyone, please also bring along 12.50dollars for the new guides tee. This is not the confirmed price yet and we will return/collect more money if need be. Please bring exact amount for easier collation.

Picking punk

Hello!

Sorry for the late post because something was wrong with my internet ><

I believe some of you would have received the message from Marilyn/your levelmates about picking punk. The reason why we are doing this is to stock up the punk supply in our guides room which is depleting rather quickly so that we can all enjoy our practices with sufficient punk in time to come.

For both the year 2s and 1s, please pick

-4 bags full of punk (dried leaves/coconut husk - a fibrous material usually not directly found on the coconut but on the coconut tree)

-8 bags full of kindlings (dry twigs, thin branches [those originally attached to the leaves when it is still on the tree])

-4 bags full of bigger wood (thicker brances, log)

per level.

Please label each plastic bag according to whats inside and bring it to school by the 2nd CCA session when school reopens.

*Please do not just pick for the sake of picking/to submit to us "something" and disregard the importance of the dryness of the punk. Make sure your punk are DRY before even picking them or if not you can always pick and use hairdryer to dry it. Of course, my suggestion is that you pick while it is sunny and not wait for it to rain.

Some guidelines to check as to whether the punk is dry:

-For leaves, pick those that can be crushed to bits easily (usually these leaves have turned brown and some have curled up) -- and try to pick leaves that are not waxy as waxy leaves create a lot of smoke

-For kindlings, pick those that can be broken easily

-For branches, make sure you don't feel moisture when you touch it (this applies to the punk and kindlings too)

Hello Guides!

Some things to take note for November camp here ^^

1. It is not compulsory to have patrol identity for your untensils, slippers and etc except for your mealbag. ^^

2. Please remember to pick enough punk for your patrol for outdoor cooking. Remember to pick more branches to sustain the fire and also pick more coconut husk for starting fire too (:

3. There is no need to buy extra food for outdoor cooking for your patrol (though if you want you can) as food/ingredients will be provided for you to cook. We already have some recipes with us which we can use for outdoor cooking. ^^

4. For attire wise, please report to school in second U and for the second day, attire is any school-based tee plus RV PE pants (no FBTs allowed - however, you can wear your own shorts on the first day underneath your skirt). You can wear track pants at night if you want to but when falling in we would have to be in school-based tee plus PE shorts, tucked in. Please wear RV socks throughout the whole camp too.

Lastly, please fall in on Monday, 14 November 2011 at 8am outside Guides Room. Fall in timing for patrols on flagpole duty and of course the prtrols will be announced later.

Meal bag making

Hello Guides!

In view of the training camp we will be having during the November holidays, the guiders will be teaching us how to make a mealbag next Tuesday during act. As such, please bring the following materials to school for the session:

1. Sewing materials (needles, pins, thread)

2. Old Clothes that you can use

3. Buttons, ribbons (and any other decorative materials) that you want to use to decorate your personal mealbag

4. Old shoelace/string to act as the draw string for your mealbag

Please do note that your mealbag will contain all your untensils, bowls, plates, etc so bring a cloth hat is big enough to hold all these things when folded into half (: This will be the first time we are making a meal bag so have fun learning! Do make your mealbag beautiful so that you can use for future camps such as when you go for camps organised by HQ! :D

Crime Prevention Badge

Hello Year 2 Guides!

I have a piece of information here from Miss Loh regarding your Crime Prevention Badge:

"Dear year 2 guides,

Since exams are over, it means that you will need to start working on your Crime Prevention Badge. There are basically 5 tasks you need to fulfill in order to obtain this badge. They are:

1. Handouts (on crime prevention etc) to Parents
2. Practice Crime Prevention Measures
3. Log book (of articles etc on crime prevention) - minimal passing mark = 50%
4. Poster designing - minimal passing mark = 50%
5. Visit a Crime Prevention Exhibition

Items 1 and 2 are to be signed by your parents, items 3 and 4 are assessed by guiders, and item 5 is to be signed by the policeman on duty at the exhibition. The log book will be of individual work. The poster can be done in groups of 3. I expect quality work.

Please refer to your booklet for more information. The deadline for submitting the log book, poster and booklet will be 25 October 2011 (Tue), 3pm. Late submissions will not be entertained. Please make sure that items 1, 2 and 5 in the booklet are signed.

Anyways, I have some announcements here so please take note:

1. Interest badges
Yes, interest badge deadline is this Friday! Please pass your interest badge templates to the respective testwork coordinators on Friday morning:
Year 1s - Jia Yan (3A);
Year 2s - Yi Yan (2I);
Year 3s - Nicole (3D)
Do note that you will only have to hand in the template with the tester's signature but not your work (: and make sure you did 3 interest badges! (;

2.Guides tee design!
Sorry for making you gals wait so long! We went over to ask about ordering of the guides tee and decided to make the following changes to the design to improve it:

1. We were thinking of excluding the girl as it might be quite costly with the girl at the corner.

2. As the shop does not have nice shades of blue for dry fit shirt, we decided to change it to white colour as that is the next nicest colour among the dry fit shirts.

3. We thought that the shirt will look better with a complete splash too.

Hmm are there any objections or suggestions for the tee-shirt design? Please do sms your PLs by tomorrow night if you have any opinions (: We are welcome to your suggestions / opinions! (I will post the shirt design on the next post)

"Held once every 5 years, international camp 2012 is organisd as part of the Association's Centenary Celebrations of Girl Guiding. The camp theme is 'Girlls Worldwide say We Can Save our Planet' will encourage and challenge each of us to think about and live out a life that is green and blue!

Details:

Date: 4-8 June 2012 (Monday - Saturday)
Venue: Camp Christine, MOE Jalan Bahtera Campsite and Sarimbun Campsite
Number of people: 1 patrol of 8 guides (from our school)
Cost: S$180 per guide (all expenses will be covered by the school)
Activities: Kayaking, high elements, night cycling, pioneering, backwoodsman cooking, nature trails, etc.

*Guide participants are required to sleep under tentage. Tent and gadget poles will not be provided. Each Guide patrol is required to bring its own tent to camp. (Subject to availability, tents may be rnted.) The tent may be canvas or nylon, A-frame ridge or dome tents. Sub-camps not expected to build gadgets. (i.e. There is no need to build kitchen shelters, etc. for a sub-camp)

Spaces are limited so do register quickly! (;

Those who are interested please do register as this is a very good oppurtunity to meet guides from other countres and learn and interact with them! ;D

A revamped round-up to previous announcements with the latest updates and changes concerning West Division Campfire and Interest Badges and guides cookie collection. (yes you did not see this wrongly!)

For tonight's West Division campfire

Please gather at the Foyer of ZhengHua Secondary School at 6.15 p.m. and make sure you have already eaten! Do not be late. Remember to practice your dance too!

How to get there:

Take the MRT to Choa Chu Kang Station and transfer to the LRT to Jelapang Station and Zhenghua will be in walking distance!You should be able to see the school, just look around carefully.

Attire:

Full guides Uniform without beret and whistle. Do be reminded to be in proper attire. Take note on personal grooming (fingernails, fringe) and on parts of the uniform. (polish your badges and pin the badges properly.socks.)

Interest Badges

Some changes, please complete your interest badges by 23rd September, Friday. As the dateline closes in, the method of collection will be announced on guides blog again. Do look out for messages passed down by PLs. Jiayou! :)

Cookie Collection! (I know you know we all know we have been waiting for this!)

Please gather at 2.30 p.m. outside the General Office on this coming Monday,12th September when school reopens to collect your COOKIES!

(Some of our lessons ends at 2.30p.m. so it's okay to be slightly late.However, please come down immediately after your lessons.)

Also remember to bring along the form which states the number of cookies you have ordered just in case!

West Div camp participants, please gather at the foyer of zhenghua sec at 6.15 pm and have your dinner before that! Jiayou for the dance! ^^ The nearest MRT to Zhenghua Secondary School is Choa Chu Kang MRT, but you will have to take LRT to Jelapang station, which within walking distance to Zhenghua (less than 5 minutes). The school is within sight from the station (but only from one side of the station) so do note (:

As for the year 2s going for the crime prevention course, just in case you gals do not know, the neighbourhood police centre which you are visiting has been changed to the one beside Jurong Junior College, along corporation road (Jurong West Neighbourhood Police Centre). So please gather there at 2.30pm, don't be late! (:

Lastly, as for the whole company, please remember that you have to complete at least 3 interest badges and submit the signed criteria sheet (note that you do not have to submit the work you did but just the criteria sheet) by Tudesday, after school reopens.

Had a good sleep yesterday? ;D I have a few important announcements to make here so do take note!

First, volunteers for ACES day!
Below is a list of your groupings and the houses you are in charge of. (The houses are arranged according to their seating arrangement. We will distribute the seating arrangement paper and colour cards to each of the groups on that day itself too.)

The attire will be confirmed with you gals at a later date so do take note. (:
On that day, please fall in at 6.40am at the volleyball court (we have to be ready by 6.55am), as people will start entering the hall at around 7am, so don't be late! Regarding where will the year 1 to 4s place their bags, we will confirm with the teachers later.

Our duty:
- Raise the colour card to indicate the location of the houses in the hall
- Tell the people to put down their bags according to their houses/classes and ask them to proceed to the field
- Make sure that the people line up their bags properly to prevent chaos

However, do take note that they might need our help again after the mass display to help the school settle into the hall and also at the end of the celebrations, they might need our help too, so stay alert and be on standby! Don't worry you will be able to enjoy the concert with your class (:

Second, I hope all of you have received the email from Wen Su about your service learning project. Please do take note of the deadlines for your proposals and reflections etc. Like what the CIP reps said, do be polite and put on a smile while volunteering. It would be good to like what you are doing too! But most important of all, do take note of your safety! Don't compromise your safety for anything else! Well then, below is your CIP groupings:

Hello Peeps!

Here are some announcements so do take note!

1. Teacher's Day is Coming!

Therfore, on Teacher's Day/ ACES Day (1 September 2011 - Thursday), I would need 20 guides ( preferably Year 2s and 3s) to be down for Yeoman Service early in the morning for crowd control/ushering duties.

I will ask for the names of volunteers tomorrow.

2. There is going to be a West Division Campfire 2011

Date: 10 September 2011 (Saturday, During September Holidays)

Time: 6.30pm (Registration and Pre-campfire games)

7.00pm - 8.30pm (Campfire)

Theme: Going Tribal

Therefore, I would require 20 guides to attend. Among these 20 guides, there will be guides who are going to perform during the campfire. Nicole will take charge of the performance.

Registration is open to all levels.

Tomorrow we will have our first initiative of the year! Create-tive! ^^

Just in case you gals do not know, each year, the company (year 3s) will organise about 4 initiatives, including both unit initiative (within rvgg itself) and inter-unit initiative (with other schools or other ccas). The initiatives are usually carried out in the amazing race format and each intiative will have it's own theme and educational values. (Fyi, organising an intiative is counted towards pna too!)] Treat this as a reward after weeks of training and have fun with your sister guides!

Now, here are the announcements:

1) Year 2s, please note that your trip to the neighbourhood police post has been scheduled to be on the 5 September 2011, Monday, so please keep that day free! More details will be released closer to the dates.

2) Year 1s, please be reminded that your total defense test will be on 23 August, next Tuesday. Do note that you will at least have to get 75% and above to pass the test, so do study hard for it!

There has been a shop selling school socks in school, so those whose socks are not able to meet our expectations, the RV logo has to be above your shoe level, please kindly go and buy new pairs of socks for yourself by next Wednesday (17/8).

Punishments be counted starting from tomorrow onwards so do pull up your socks if you have not gotten new socks.

Starting from next Friday, there will be no more more excuses for low ankle socks that can't even be seen.

Uniform checks are not to be taken lightly. If anyone is caught, please report your punishment yourself honestly.

Hello peeps!

Great job for today's National Day Parade!

Thanks for all your hard work and effort you peeps have shown us for the past few practices, the result may not be perfect but we all have improved a lot. I'm sure all of us felt a sense of achievement after all our hard work and enjoyed this parade! It has been a few tiring weeks, so use these days to rest well.

Hopefully all of us have learnt a lot from this NDP, and we shall bring back what we have learnt to normal CCA acts so that we can all improve further! We can learn a lot from other UGs through these events so lets make sure that we treasure the time we spend with other UGs next time as well.

Doing our best is not enough, we have to do even better!

Hey girls! (Year 2s and 3s)

Tomorrow please fall in at the track in front of the mama shop at 6.30am. It might be early but do come early so that we can start our warm up and practice asap (especially the belok) before the mass rehearsal.

Remember to iron your beret such that the sides does not unfold and wont fall off. Plait your hair and gel it if you need to make it neat. Remember to wear white canvas shoes and polish your trefoil. It is not required to wear the whistle set. Take note that for your socks, the rv logo have to be seen above your shoe.

Remember to bring your ironed beret too! There will be a check of your beret and if it is not up to standard, it will be counted as punishment, same for monday.

Remember to avoid the mistakes that were mentioned earlier and also some of the mistakes that you tend to make. For example, some of you tend to lock your arms at the back so do take note during tomorrow's rehearsal. Then for jerking of arms when the commander shouts "baris" remember to be alert and prepare yourselves when you know the command is about to be given.

Let's jiayou for the last rehearsal together! :D

Tomorrow, please fall in in your full U at 2.45pm for the year 2s and 3s involved in NDP parade. Year 1s, please fall in at 2.45pm in your 2nd U. Similarly, you gals will be dismissed after the testwork.

NDP parade people please take note, there will most likely be NDP parade rehearsal on saturday so please take note! More info will be posted later.

Regarding what Kai Xin and Wei Xuan said earlier, I hope all of you can take it to heart and do well tomorrow. Run through the procedure in your mind until you are familiar with it, note down the mistakes that you tend to make and improve in tomorrow's rehearsal. Remind each other about the things to take note and support each other.

For those who have been putting in effort, thank you for giving your best for guides. Trust me, even though it's hard work, the enjoyment you will get from being committed in this NDP is something you will not want to forget, for you played a role in proving to others the capabilities of the UGs & Guides and displayed the UG spirit in being strong, committed and passionate in what you are doing. Well, for those who obviously have not been even paying attention for the past few rehearsals, where has your UG spirit gone? Do you really wish to destroy the efforts the seniors, your sister guides through your refusal to put in your effort?

The UG spirit, to me, is one of the most important qualities that as a guide, as a member of UG, you must possess. However, down the years, this important spirit seems to have diminished in most of you, which is quite disappointing. Have you ever wondered why? Why have some of you complained when the training gets tough instead of taking it constructively as good training for you? Why have some of you thought and/or tried to evade the hardship even though you know that it can help you improve? Or have you ever thought that "yay I survivied today's training though it is hard and that makes me stronger and better", be it as an individual, level or as a company.

Not being deterred by the hardships to put in your hearts and soul into something is what I hope to see in all of you.

I know quite a lot of you have been working very hard and I am glad you gals are putting in the effort. Rest well and jiayou for tomorrow!

Though I’m not exactly in your shoes, I wish to voice out my sentiments….

Echoing Wei Xuan’s thoughts, I find it a pain in the neck to think that a pint of us do not give a damn and do not appreciate others hard work and let loose the minds and wander off somewhere and not putting in your heart and soul in the session. It is insulting, really disappointing and really, sinks my heart. I feel the ache of those who really put in their best. Of course, this is just my feelings as a bystander. I am not pinpointing anyone, however the true ones will know deep in your heart. Even the smallest hindsight reflects upon the entire condition. It’s just the littlest thing that makes a whole lot of differences. I dare to say the success of this depends on each and every single one of you. Imagine we are all standing on driftwood on the surface of the ocean. A little twitch, a little impatience, a little down guard may just as well capsize the whole team. We are a team. Get out of your individualistic mindset. Open your eyes wide and look around you. You are not doing this alone. Remember, there is a whole group of girls, your sister guides doing it with you. Give it your all, pump in 200% & do it well, do it good. It’s an honor to be in this parade, and this chance is hard to come by.

I do not wish for us to continue on with our current standards. Remember what I said? The senior are very disappointed and disheartened. I could hear it in their voices. It hurts you know. Put yourselves in their shoes, thinking that their uphill struggle to maintain guides at the standard dropped. How would you have felt?

Some pointers:

Let’s work to keep a consistent spacing between each guide and align properly to the person in front and beside you so that we would look neat as a contingent. It shows how bonded and united we are if we stand together yea? This also helps during kekanang lurus as we cannot raise our arms to check accurately so the only way is to adjust when marching. Also execute your steps in confidence. Do not be afraid to showcase your marching. It’s important to align but do not look down on the floor at all times especially during pandaung kekiri pandung as it would look quite unsightly.

Always remember to wiggle your toes! We do not want any of us to feel unwell and rest adequately before the big day. Also in the event of anyone feeling unwell, please fall out immediately, we do not want anybody hurt as a result!! Health is always our first priority!

Remember your arms swing too. Lock your arms at all time and align to the person next to you so that we will look smart and have the energy. When we turn on the spot it is important to lock the back of your legs to be more impactful and less sloppy.

Remember for the bello to walk smaller steps to help one another to catch up. Don’t panic and worry, we can catch up to other contingents later on when marching.

Let’s stand proud with our chest puffed out at all times and sing out loud the songs and recite the pledge and recollections with pride.

Also, do approach and voice out any queries and thoughts to us. It could be in private but we really want to know how you guys feel so that we can work together, hand in hand to up the standard of guides.

I have to acknowledge the mistake on my part as I can only speak through others’ opinion and observations and give my two cents worth… We tend to overlook things and see from a bigger point of view and often lack details in regards to the matter; thus it’s like trying to paint a realistic model of a human but ended up drawing a stick man.

Nobody’s perfect. However, I personally feel that giving in your best, 200% is way better than perfection without soul and substance. Let’s push beyond the horizons and achieve the best we can be.

Do not let yourself down, do not let your fellow sister guides down and do not let our seniors down. Do not let yourself to have the chance to regret your performance. Let us live up to the expectations and prove to the rest that we are not the “slack” and mindless cca they thought of.

Let strive hard together. Jiayou! Jiayou! Jiayou!

Okay have this sudden urge to voice out my feelings though i know i may not be in the position.

Yes firstly, it’s about the doing your best thing. I mean it’s only because there are people out there who aren’t doing their best, thus making the contigent look ugly. This irritates me much because from what I saw, from my side of the contigent, some were putting in their upmost effort, while some basically don’t give a damn. Seriously, it irks me so much. And for like the singing of national anthem or the My People, My Home song. I don’t know about the rest of you all, but beside me, Yu Jia, Li Ting and Nicole were singing so loudly. What about the rest of you? They have to sing their lungs out, so as to make up for those of YOU who were not singing. But then again, how can these few people, who put in their heart and soul, be louder than the contigent of other Ugs, whereby all of them did their part. It’s not just about singing you know. My main point here is about putting in effort. Aren’t we sisters? Then why are there only some people doing their best, and even doing more to make up for those who don’t even bother trying? But guess what, no matter how hard these people try, they WON’T be able to cover up for those who aren’t trying cos we are still a contigent as one. Everyone of you matters and no matter how well some perform, those who aren’t trying will just be the black sheeps and stick out like a sore thumb, thereby making the whole contigent look untidy.

Wake up please. One mistake and disconcern by you will actually affect the overall performance of the contigent. And not only that, it’ll affect how others view of guides. This NDP parade is the only platform whereby the Ugs can show their talent. Furthermore, guides don’t have any other competitions to prove ourselves to the school. So this is the one and only time of the year when we can prove to those who look down on us, that we are girls with substance and not just a bunch of slackers who have nothing better to do than selling cookies. Therefore the importance of our performance is not only to show what we’re made of but also uphold the guides reputation. Imagine, with this kind of lousy standard, we aren’t just letting ourselves down. But also our seniors, who had worked hard, batches by batches, building up our guides reputation, with years of hard work. And now just within a NDP, we’ll destroy everything, waste their sweat and tears, just because of our lousy and heck-care attitude. YEARS of hardwork just gone to the drain caused by a DAY of lousy performance. I don’t even dare facing them now.

Remember when Jia Qi took time off and specially came down to guide us. What did we give her in return? Do you know how much it hurts, seeing her beloved guides in such poor shape? After years of hardwork, seeing guides fall so much below standard, yet she can’t do much about it? Seeing the intense disappointment in her eyes, I was instantly crushed with guilt. Imagine after retiring, coming back to see your juniors being worse off than before? ‘What happened to guides? Why like that?’ And then, ‘It wasn’t like this in the past.’

So i seriously hope you all can do some reflection. I can’t admit that I’m all perfect but I’m willing to do my best, not only for myself, but for guides and for not letting the years of hardwork put in by our seniors go to waste.

Be proud to be a guide, and uphold the guides reputation with pride.

Above is the schedule for this week. Everyone, please fall in outside Guides Room at 4.05pm.

Year 1s, please take note that all of you will be released at 5.00pm after the testwork tomorrow. Report in your 2nd U.

Year 2s and 3s, remember to report outside guides room in your full uniform. Remember to bring your beret, polish your trefoil, wear canvas shoe and iron your scarf! Do not that there is no need to wear the whistle, swiss knife and the cord when falling in [the stuff we usually hang on our belt on the right side] as it will be very noisy when we march! Do not that the act might end quite late too due to the ndp parade rehearsal.

Note that you can change into your full u during the period in between the end of your lesson and the start of icas but not during lunch!

We will be marching in our full U for the subsequent 2 rehearsals so as to get used to it. We only have 2 rehearsals left so everyone please buck up! Run through the whole procedure in your mind and remain alert during both the rehearsals and the actual parade. NDP is a test of our resistance and perserverance so jiayou for this parade!

Do RVGG and the all those who care for us proud! Be focused and we can do it!

Hello,

This is the last post before the last batch of AYLC people fly off on Friday morning, so please take note of the very important announcement below!

First, Guides cookie will come in around September, so if you need to arrange a time to meet with your friends or something, arrange for a time perhaps after September.

Second, there will be phototaking on 29 July for the year book. Wan Zhyi, Wei Shan, Sherryl and Maxine, please report in full u by 2.50pm. Please bring along your 2nd u and prepare the necessary props (gadgets) for the phototaking. Meet outside the general office at 3pm on that day with your props and in your full u. The whole company might also be taking a photo on that day.

Lastly, NDP rehearsal will start at 3pm on Friday so same thing, fall in at 2.45pm on Friday outside guides room.

I will post a brief description of the NDP parade procedure here so that you gals can be more prepared for the rehearsal on Friday, especially since this year's NDP parade is quite different from last year.

1. First, we will s.edia at the mama shop when the commander shouts baris sediia.

2. After that, our next cue is when the drum beats start. We will brief you gals on Friday which beat of the drum to start at. As we will be the contingent at the back, we might not be able to hear the drum beat, so the actual cue to start marching will be confirmed during the rehearsal. Then, we will march out from outside the mama shop all the way to the flagpole infront of the grandstand.

3. Hanta when we reach our position until the drum beat is given for us to turn.

4. Then, we will carry out the ceremony during which we will sing the national anthem, recite the pledge, read the recollections, sing My People, My Home and the national day message will be read out. Have you memorise your recollections and My People, My Home lyrics? If you haven't memorise them by TMR. Remember to sing the national anthem, shout out the pledge with pride, respond to the recollections loudly and sing my people my home with a clear and LOUD voice! Let's us all jiayou for this NDP parade.

5.Then we will turn to our left, march forward a little, bello 2 times until we are facing the opposite direction. We will then do a march past during which we will tilt our heads to salute the flag.

6. Then we will march off all the way to the flagpole on the other end.

The whole procedure will be quite long so jiayou for the rehearsal and of course on the actual day too!

Hey guides!

Remember there is a rehearsal for the Science Teacher Seminar?

It will be on 2nd June, Thursday, on the day before the Science Teacher Seminar itself (3rd June). Attire for the rehearsal is School t-shirt and school blue skirt. Gather outside the general office. It will be from 9am to 12pm, so be in school by 9am sharp and gather. Make sure you do attend, unless with valid reason.

On 3rd June, the actual day, you are required to be in school at 7.30am in the morning. Venue will be the same. If you are only unable to go for the rehearsal, you still need to go and help out on the actual day k!

We have asked around for those who cannot make it on 3rd june with valid reason. So if you did not tell us that you have something, then it means you are going ah!

hmm tomorrow, i know you all cant change into your full u in such a short time between 2.30-2.45 and report on time. so those who are having flagpole in the first shift, report to the guides room punctually with your bag in the guides room and in whatever attire you all are wearing for tgif. you guys will go and change in the second shift (you have 20 minutes) .

for the people in the second shift, you must report to the flagpole area at 3.00 sharp to take over those people in the first shift. you must already be in your full u by then and all your belongings in the guides room.

for the year1s, you are NOT going to take the total defence test!! you will be having a quiz from the health promotion board (the health trooper course you guys attended). those yr2s who went with the yr1 (if there is any) to take this course will also have to sit for the quiz!
