Hello!

Sorry for the late post because something was wrong with my internet ><

I believe some of you would have received the message from Marilyn/your levelmates about picking punk. The reason why we are doing this is to stock up the punk supply in our guides room which is depleting rather quickly so that we can all enjoy our practices with sufficient punk in time to come.

For both the year 2s and 1s, please pick

-4 bags full of punk (dried leaves/coconut husk - a fibrous material usually not directly found on the coconut but on the coconut tree)

-8 bags full of kindlings (dry twigs, thin branches [those originally attached to the leaves when it is still on the tree])

-4 bags full of bigger wood (thicker brances, log)

per level.

Please label each plastic bag according to whats inside and bring it to school by the 2nd CCA session when school reopens.

*Please do not just pick for the sake of picking/to submit to us "something" and disregard the importance of the dryness of the punk. Make sure your punk are DRY before even picking them or if not you can always pick and use hairdryer to dry it. Of course, my suggestion is that you pick while it is sunny and not wait for it to rain.

Some guidelines to check as to whether the punk is dry:

-For leaves, pick those that can be crushed to bits easily (usually these leaves have turned brown and some have curled up) -- and try to pick leaves that are not waxy as waxy leaves create a lot of smoke

-For kindlings, pick those that can be broken easily

-For branches, make sure you don't feel moisture when you touch it (this applies to the punk and kindlings too)
