Sunday, May 26, 2013   Note that there will still be CCA next week! However, there will be some changes to the timing. Since you will be released at 1pm by the school, CCA will start at 1.30pm and end at 4.30pm. Hence, fall in outside guides room at 1.30pm sharp. Xiu Ting :) 21/5 Act

Xiu Ting Enrolment Ceremony
 Tomorrow will be the long awaited enrolment ceremony! :) Please note that you are to report in FULL GUIDES UNIFORM to CCA tomorrow. For those who are on flagpole duties (Sunflower and Ixora), fall in in your full U at 3.00pm outside guides room. For the others, fall in outside guides room by 3.15pm. Year 1s don't need to report for flagpole duties. We expect to see standards for your full guides uniform tomorrow, so do take this seriously. Seniors, please help the year 1s along. Objectives
- To
equip Guides with camping and outdoor skills and the knowledge to plan,
organize and conduct Guide camps.
- To
provide Guides with opportunities to develop their Guiding skills through
active participation during the course
Course
Content
· Camping Standards; Forms and Procedures · Roles and Responsibilities of Campers & Camp Staff – i.e. the Camp Commandant, the Quartermaster, the First Aider · Set & Made-Up Ceremonies in Camp · Programme Planning (Patrol Camps) · Tent Pitching (Choice and Layout of Campsite) · The Use of Knots, Hitches and Lashings in Camp and Gadget Making · Axemanship, Fire Lighting & Outdoor Cooking · Organising a Guide Campfire Four slots are avilable for this course, year 2s and 3s are strongly encouraged to take part in this course. Do think about it and I will be asking again tomorrow.
Usherers for performing arts showcase
The school needs 10 guides to help out at the Performing Arts Showcase on this coming saturday.
One group of 5 needs to be there at 10:15 am as the concert starts at 11 am.
Another group at 1315 hours at the concert starts at 1400 hours.
Lunch will be provided from 11 am.
Job Scope:
1. Two to stand or sit at the front to tear and collect ticket stubs
2. Three to bring parents into the auditorium.
I will be asking for volunteers and more details will be said tomorrow.
Also, do remember to bring the consent form for Guides Hike tomorrow.
