Thursday, May 2, 2013  Camp Training Course (18 - 21 June 2013)
Objectives
- To
equip Guides with camping and outdoor skills and the knowledge to plan,
organize and conduct Guide camps.
- To
provide Guides with opportunities to develop their Guiding skills through
active participation during the course
Course
Content
· Camping Standards; Forms and Procedures · Roles and Responsibilities of Campers & Camp Staff – i.e. the Camp Commandant, the Quartermaster, the First Aider · Set & Made-Up Ceremonies in Camp · Programme Planning (Patrol Camps) · Tent Pitching (Choice and Layout of Campsite) · The Use of Knots, Hitches and Lashings in Camp and Gadget Making · Axemanship, Fire Lighting & Outdoor Cooking · Organising a Guide Campfire Four slots are avilable for this course, year 2s and 3s are strongly encouraged to take part in this course. Do think about it and I will be asking again tomorrow.
Usherers for performing arts showcase
The school needs 10 guides to help out at the Performing Arts Showcase on this coming saturday.
One group of 5 needs to be there at 10:15 am as the concert starts at 11 am.
Another group at 1315 hours at the concert starts at 1400 hours.
Lunch will be provided from 11 am.
Job Scope:
1. Two to stand or sit at the front to tear and collect ticket stubs
2. Three to bring parents into the auditorium.
I will be asking for volunteers and more details will be said tomorrow.
Also, do remember to bring the consent form for Guides Hike tomorrow.
